Blue light in the wavelength range around 400 nm can kill bacterial pathogens effectively and without additives. UVB radiation around 308 nm can also stimulate vitamin D synthesis in the skin. When used regularly, the implemented demonstrator with a total of more than 900 LEDs is able to generate a vitamin D dose of 80 international units (IU) per day in the skin.
