Projekt “DermPhoThera”

In the joint project “Dermatological narrowband UVB LED phototherapy with dosimetry”, GMBU e.V. processed the work packages for integrating UVB dosimetry and, together with an industrial partner, developed a hand-held device for UVB irradiation of psoriasis. The demonstrator consists of a control device, the dosimetry module based on a calibrated photodiode and the irradiation handpiece. The dosimetry module can be used to determine the administered dose with an accuracy of better than 20%. The handpiece contains eight UVB LEDs on an area of 10 cm2. The achieved irradiance of 80 mW per cm2 enables short irradiation durations in the range of seconds.
