The Organisation

GMBU e.V. is a not-for-profit research institution with three departments located in in Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and Saxony (Germany).

The GMBU core competences are in the fields of bioanalytics, chemical and bioprocess engineering, photonics and opto-sensors, as well as nanoscale layer technologies.

Since its foundation in 1992, GMBU e.V. has become a valuable member of the regional application-orientated research and innovation ecosystem with a wide network of partnerships and collaborations. GMBU defines itself as a link between applied basic research and industry.

As a centre for the transfer of knowledge in the fields of medical, bio- and environmental technology, GMBU also provides advanced technology consulting and can assist with the coordination of innovation networks.

Furthermore, through its commitment to education and training of young professionals, GMBU e.V. meets its statutory responsibilities of fostering the competitiveness and viability of German SMEs.

GMBU e.V. is headquartered in Halle(Saale) in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
